About the Artist

My artwork is focused on the human experience. The mediums that I work with are focused on materials that are closely intertwined with everyday life. Most of my work is in metal, as it has been used to connect cultures in many shapes and forms. It has been used for many purposes; adornment, weapons, utensils, and for monetary purposes to name a few. Therefore, it serves as a wonderful medium to express human ideals and personal experiences.

I graduated at Iowa State University with a BFA degree studying integrated studio arts. My focus area was in jewelry and metalsmithing and I was a teaching assistant to the beginning metals class at ISU. Along with metals, I studied furniture design, costume design, figure drawing, and other integrated media. I have also interned at Design on Main, a gallery extension of the College of Design at ISU.
